For admitted students entering in the Fall of 2025, Gettysburg College offers renewable merit scholarships based on academic and creative talent, ranging in value from $20,000 to $50,000 annually. Our Eisenhower and Abraham Lincoln scholarships are our most competitive awards.
Recipients are selected from an applicant pool that represents all 50 states and typically 50 countries around the world. Competitive students have strong grades in advanced courses, have been highly engaged in their school or community, write and communicate well, and have strong personal recommendations from their schools.
While students are automatically considered for most of Gettysburg’s merit scholarships just by submitting the Common App, two of our scholarships do require separate, short applications:
- The Eisenhower Scholarship recognizes students’ commitment to civic engagement. Apply for this scholarship now.
- The Gettysburg College–Gilder Lehrman Institute History Scholarship recognizes outstanding first-year applicants who are interested in the study of history. Apply for this scholarship now.
Gettysburg’s merit scholarships can be coupled with need-based grants, federal and state grants, college loans, and work study for eligible students. Scholarships are awarded for no more than eight semesters and can be renewed annually as long as the recipient meets the GPA requirement associated with their scholarship.
Gettysburg College also offers a STEM Scholarship program for first generation students with an interest in a STEM field.
The Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College offers competitive scholarships for talented musicians. Auditions are required for music scholarship consideration.
