Parents and families play an important role in their children’s lives and are valued partners in our community. Our goal is to provide parents and families with the tools and resources they need to best support their student through their college experience.

Counseling and Wellness

Our Counseling and Wellness Center offers a wide variety of supportive services that focus on students’ emotional growth and well-being throughout their college years.

Campus Safety

Campus Safety is concerned about the safety and welfare of its students, faculty and staff, and visitors, and is committed to providing a safe and secure environment.

Residential Education

The mission of the Office of Residential Education is to empower students to actively engage with the Gettysburg College community by fostering a safe and inclusive environment, supporting developmental transitions, offering opportunities to learn and grow, and strategically managing residential communities.

Campus Recreation

Gettysburg’s Campus Recreation program offers an array of athletic and fitness options available to all students as well as club and intramural sports.

Academic Resources

Academic Support

The Center for Student Success supports students throughout their educational journey, working closely with faculty and other campus partners to remove barriers to students’ academic and personal success.

Career Engagement

The Center for Career Engagement helps students cultivate the knowledge, skills, networks, and experiences necessary to create and pursue meaningful futures.

Global Education

Nearly 50 percent of Gettysburg student’s study abroad through our Center for Global Education.

FERPA

Gettysburg College encourages parents and family members to support and challenge their students during their time at the College and complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Get Involved

Family Ambassadors

Parents and family members are an important part of the Gettysburg Network and can become ambassadors of Gettysburg College by supporting the Center for Career Engagement or serving on the Family Weekend Advisory Council, Opening Day Welcome Team, or Parents Leadership Council. Family Weekend

Join us for Family Weekend 2024, October 25 – 27, and experience many facets of life at Gettysburg College from academic opportunities to exhibits to athletic events to music performances to open houses! A full schedule and registration information will be available early in the fall semester.

Philanthropic Support

Every student, every day feels the impact of support from the Gettysburg community. By giving to Gettysburg, donors help us to deliver our promise to provide every student with A Consequential Education.


The Parents Leadership Council (PLC) comprises Gettysburg College’s most committed parents, whose philanthropy sustains and enhances outstanding academic and co-curricular programs while strengthening the College’s reputation. PLC members are leaders in financial support through annual gifts of $5,000 or more to the Gettysburg Fund and other areas of the College.

Gettysburg College x Main Street Gettysburg Discount Program

In partnership with Main Street Gettysburg, Gettysburg College students and their families can receive a discount on products, services, and experiences at participating businesses by presenting their student ID or parent/guardian discount card. The parent/guardian cards are available on Opening Day and Family Weekend, and are not used on campus.

Admissions Visits

The Gettysburg College Admissions Office offers in-person tours of campus, opportunities for on-campus interviews for high school students, and a variety of virtual visit opportunities for prospective students and their families.

Local Travel and Tourism

Destination Gettysburg is a wonderful resource to learn more about things happening in the greater Gettysburg and Adams County area throughout the year as well as information on lodging and dining options.
